Zip Kart is a name built on decades of British karting heritage, racing excellence and driver development. Our legacy is closely connected to the late Martin Hines—known throughout the sport as “Mr. Karting”—a three-time World Champion and five-time FIA European Champion whose influence helped shape generations of British motorsport talent.
Over the years, Zip Kart has played a part in the early development of drivers who progressed to the highest levels of motorsport, including David Coulthard, Jason Plato, Gary Paffett, Anthony Davidson, Lewis Hamilton, Oliver Rowland and Jake Dennis.
Today, we proudly continue that legacy through Zip Young Guns: our dedicated youth racing team and driver-development programme.
Developing the Next Generation
Zip Young Guns supports ambitious young drivers as they progress from rental and corporate karting into competitive Motorsport UK championship racing.
Specializing in Rotax karting, we work with drivers of all experience levels—from those entering owner-driver racing for the first time to established competitors striving for championship success in the UK and internationally.
Our role goes far beyond preparing a kart for race day. We help each driver understand the complete racing journey, providing professional support in areas including:
- Driver coaching and racecraft
- Kart setup and technical development
- Testing and performance analysis
- Championship and career planning
- Race preparation and team support
- Confidence, discipline and personal development

Our team-testing sessions also give drivers the opportunity to develop important racing skills—including overtaking, defending, communication and teamwork—without the pressure or championship risk of a race weekend.
We create an environment in which young drivers can build confidence, learn from experience and become complete competitors both on and off the circuit.
